Installation of the Guardian 26kW Home Backup Generator with Whole House Switch WiFi-Enabled

The Story

Initially this home was not set up for a Generac installation and the homeowners were quoted an outrageous price by another contractor. They were told the whole home needed to be rewired to integrate the generator into the home’s existing panel.

While onsite adding receptacles for their horse barn, one of our technicians offered a free estimate for a whole home generator. The homeowners initially refused stating that the last contractor said it wasn’t possible unless they paid BIG, but would still be interested to see what we could do for them. After investigating two barn’s, multiple subpanels, their house and the pole the meter was attached to, our technicians determined all that was needed was an additional waterproof, weather resistant sub panel and a reconfiguring of the panel at the meter. Within two days of the Generac’s arrival, the installation was completed and for less than half of what the previous contractor originally quoted! Now the entire property is set up to be covered by the generator (However, the home owner thought that was excessive so now the horse barn and home are covered)! We even threw in a free surge protector. What can I say? We like to go the extra mile! Regardless, if they ever need it, it’s there for them. Now the horses will stay warm in the winter and so will the homeowners. It makes us happy knowing one more family in Versailles is safe during an inevitable power outage.
